Carveco - CADCAM Software For Woodworking and Stoneworking
Carveco is used by woodworking and stoneworking companies worldwide, to produce an array of different 2D and 3D pieces, successfully enhancing their product ranges and increasing their profits. Whether you produce cabinet carcasses or doors, tombstones, decorative woodwork or architectural millwork, for example, Carveco has the tools to make you more efficient and productive.
Carveco gives you the freedom to begin your 2D artwork either directly in the software or by importing drawings or file formats such as DXF, PDF, AI or DGK into ArtCAM, whilst preserving their layer information.
Designs can then be quickly created or edited with Carveco’s range of vector tools. To prevent machining issues, Carveco can clean up any artwork containing loops or open vectors.
Carveco allows you to import 3D models or files from other CAD packages, which can be added to or manipulated to make complex and intricate 3D reliefs. Additionally you can instantly add height and shape to selected bitmap colours and vectors or add pre-created relief artwork from Carveco’s extensive clipart library. To make designing easier, your model can be built up of a number of relief layers, which can then be edited at any point during the design process.
For complex projects, such as a cabinet with individual panel designs, components can be designed and saved separately and then assembled into a 3D model of the complete piece. These can then all be stored as a single project. Each component can then be cut and pasted between different files to easily create new product lines or to re-use designs items.
Further detail can be added by using Carveco’s advanced design tools, which enable you to create: weave effects, embossed reliefs or textures. Alternatively you can replicate traditional sculpting methods using a Wacom tablet and modify the strength applied or amount sculpted on your model. To make borders or frames, Carveco’s “Contour Blend” tool is ideal for as it can take any unique 2D shape and create perfectly smooth domed or centreline ridged shapes. Unique in the CADCAM world!
Carveco comes with a range of 2D and 3D machining strategies to quickly and effectively machine your pieces. With a database of tools it features the most sought after raised-panel tool shapes in the furniture industry: Ogee, Roman Ogee and Roundover, to produce attractive edge finishes. Carveco provides: a flexible drill bank strategy for simultaneous drilling (ideal for cabinet makers); creates inlays and nests items according to their true shape, whilst allowing for wood grain direction. Previously defined machining strategies, cutting tools and machining parameters from imported DXF and PDF files are all calculated.
To check the accuracy of your model, a 2D or 3D simulation can be run of the pieces being machined using your chosen tools & material block dimensions. If needed, these can then be changed prior to machining saving time and money.
Carveco can render a variety of materials such as marble, mahogany or maple to help you and your customer visualise the finished product. At any stage of the design process your design can then be sent as a rotatable 3D PDF to help gain approval.
Once you and your customer are happy with the design, Carveco’s fully configurable machining enables you to go from design to manufactured part quickly and easily.
