Carveco - CAD/CAM Software For Sign Making
Carveco has been designed to give a smooth transition from design to the finished article regardless of the type of signage required, E.G. modular, custom-made, bulk or traditional signage. You can create your design in Carveco or import pre-created 2D artwork or 3D files directly. Any 2D artwork can then be cut out for basic 2D signage or transformed into 3D shapes with Carveco’s unique shape creation tools.
A sign can be made from several vector or relief layers, which can be turned on and off, so that the sign can be easily altered or copied. Any layer information from imported files, such as PDF, DXF or AI files will also be preserved in Carveco.

In Carveco, you can easily create text, edit it and manipulate it to get the desired effect. You can use many of the available True Type or single-line fonts. That’s not all – you can also easily wrap text on any curve, both open and closed.
Carveco comes with an intuitive ‘Inlay Wizard’, which makes precise male and female parts with a perfectly flat surface for any inlaid sign. This will also ensure that all unsightly shadows are avoided when creating illuminated signs.
For 3D signage, in addition to the advanced 3D shape creation tools, you have access to a library of 600+ pieces of relief clipart. Multiple reliefs can be opened simultaneously, resized and repositioned as required prior to committing them to the design. These can be embossed or sculpted from an array of design tools.
Carveco is equipped with a number of 2D and 3D machining strategies, allowing for fast and effective work. Hand sculpting effects or unique textures can also be added in minutes using the Texture Machining strategy.
The sign can be rendered in various materials, such as mahogany or maple and allows for wood grain direction. If the sign requires outside approval, this can then be sent through to the customer as a rotatable 3D PDF.
To machine your sign you can choose from a database of over 300 routers and machine tools. To prevent material wastage, Carveco not only nests the pieces to be cut according to their true shape, but also calculates the previously defined machining strategies, cutting tools and machining parameters from imported DXF and PDF files. These can then be applied to all layers with the same name with a single click thanks to Carveco’s advanced ‘toolpath templates’.
