Carveco - CAD/CAM software for engraving
Whether you specialize in: foil & embossing dies, mould tools, coins & medals or personalized products, Carveco enables you to make your pieces accurately and efficiently. Designed to create 2D and 3D engraved pieces, Carveco has allowed engravers worldwide to meet tight deadlines on hundreds of projects each year by reducing the time taken to a quarter of that required by traditional production techniques.
Carveco gives you the freedom to begin your 2D artwork either directly in the software or by importing drawings or layered file formats such as PDF or AI into Carveco.
Designs can then be quickly be created or edited with Carveco’s range of vector tools. The text tool is just one of these and contains over 300 fonts, including standard “single-stroke” engraving fonts for faster more efficient engraving times. This not only allows you to edit, manipulate and distort existing fonts but also tailor any font to match the specific capabilities of your CNC machine.
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Import of external vector files
– Easy bitmap vectorization
– Creating and editing vector texts
– Creating vectors from scratch
– Edit and transform imported vectors
Carveco allows you to import 3D models, scanned plaster of Paris moulds or files from other CAD packages, which can be added to or manipulated to make complex and intricate 3D reliefs. Additionally you can instantly add height and shape to selected bitmap colours and vectors. To make designing easier, your model can be built up of a number of relief layers, which can then be edited at any point during the design process.
Further detail can be added by either using Carveco’s relief clipart or some of the advanced design tools to create: weave effects, embossed reliefs, textures or face profiles. Additionally Carveco comes with a range of advanced sculpting tools, which allow you to replicate traditional methods by using a Wacom tablet and modifying the strength applied or amount sculpted on your model.
What’s more, Carveco’s revolutionary shape creation tool, the “Contour Blend” tool is ideal for engravers as it can take any unique 2D shape or letter and create perfectly smooth domed or centreline ridged shapes. Unique in the CADCAM world!
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Library of reliefs
– Work with multiple layers of reliefs
– Outline fade tool
– Specialized 3D effects wizards (e.g. face or weave effect wizards)
– Relief stamping
Carveco comes with a range of tools to help you prevent machining issues. Tools such as the vector doctor can clean up any artwork containing loops or open vectors.
To avoid creating 3D designs that will overstretch your material, leading to tears or splits, Carveco’s Relief Analysis tool warns you of potential problem areas, before you commit to cutting a die. These areas can then be smoothed out to avoid many of the common issues relating to mould or embossing tool design.
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Doctor of Vectors
– Relief Analysis
Once your artwork is complete you can select one of Carveco’s powerful engraving strategies to calculate the toolpaths required for machining. One such strategy is unique ‘Smart Engraving’ function as it not only rapidly clears away surplus material but also uses corner sharpening to create a clean crisp edge for foil stamping.
The ‘Raised Round’ strategy is also extremely valuable for foil and embossing dies with lettering, as it generates toolpaths directly from the vector artwork. Determining the optimum height and shape, it creates a tapered edge to the letter design so that there are no sharp edges that would otherwise pierce through the material..
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Smart Engraving Wizard
– Profile engraving strategy
– Phase engraving strategy
– V-bit engraving strategy
– Optimization of machining parameters
Before the toolpaths are sent to the machine, you can check the accuracy of your model by simulating your machining toolpaths in either a 2D or 3D view. This means you can alter your calculations prior to machining, saving both time and money.
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Machining simulation
– Save/copy the simulation result as a relief layer
To help with the design or approval stages, Carveco can render a variety of materials as well as calculate the weight of the material. This is particularly useful when pricing pieces for your clients. You can then save the model as a rotatable 3D PDF which can then be e-mailed to the customer for approval.
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Visualization with the choice of final material
– Export as 3D PDF
– Kalkulacja wagi i objętości projektu
When you and your customer are happy with a project, Carveco’s fully customisable machining allows you to move quickly and easily from design to production. Carveco is compatible with many types of CNC machines, lasers and controls.
Carveco functions and tools useful at this stage as CAD/CAM engraving software:
– Database of postprocessors
– Ability to handle lasers
